Ok. Thanks for that advice. I am thinking replacing it would be best. The symptoms have not just suddenly appeared, but have steadily been getting worse, and that could be due to the increase in rust on the pintle.

I see one in FT's eBay listing, 'AC5 IAC fits Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac', which looks exactly like it, except I cannot see if it has the 4 pins, but it probably does. The part will cost me about $145 in Australia, but much cheaper there in the US if I can wait for it.

Suggest going to a local auto store and see if they have one to see if it matches up before ordering online.

Yes, just in the process of doing that. Some suppliers do stock GM parts here. Wondered whether to replace the throttle body gasket as well? Old one looks fine - intact and flexible, not brittle.

They reckon they cannot find that part among automotive suppliers in Australia, so might have to get it from eBay in US.

Should do fine with the TB gasket

Hope the ebay one is the same one

Many of them are the same as a Ford aerostar van

Thanks for advice about gasket. Pity there is not a cross reference chart somewhere linking Mercruiser parts to auto parts. There is a D on my IAC so perhaps a Delphi part and perhaps CV10019?

Thanks for that. But I notice that on the eBay add it actually does include the Mercruiser part number 805224A1 under other 'Other Part Number', so looks like it should work.

I know this is an old thread but what was the outcome? Did the stalling stop after changing the IAC? I'm having the same issue and it's been getting worse. My plan is to change out the IAC since I'm changing out my risers and manifolds.
