Dumb question of the day - Oil fill

I haven't used mine yet so here goes:

Changing the oil myself on the boat for first time (it's a new boat to me and had the shop do it last time) and just noticed that there's apparently two oil fill caps on the top of the cylinders, one forward on the starboard side, which looks like the obvious fill near the dipstick, but I noticed one in the port rear as I was hunting for the oil filter (hanging down on the port side rear).

Now on my car, I only remember seeing one. So I thought I'd better ask...Does it matter which I use to fill the oil after draining?

I have a 1990 GM 305 V8 Mercruiser Alpha 1.

Thumpar, thanks. So, fill the starboard forward one that looks like the obvious one? Or either? All goes to the same place?

Saves cost to make one cover with an oil fill opening (rather than one with and one without), and use that same cover on both heads. The oil finds its way to the sump, regardless of which one you use....
