Hey guys.. just finished winterizing my 1990 merc 4.3 and i did my dads for him too. He’s got a 97’ merc 5.7. I took the 5 blue drain plugs out and the two smaller hoses off of the left and right which go to each manifold as well as the bigger hose off the front left side of the engine.. Was wondering if its a must to take the hoses off the top connecting to the thermostat? I assumed since i took them off from the bottom at the ends connecting to the manifolds that i wouldnt have to take them off on top.

Also, the power steering hose on this engine has a custom frabricated pvc pipe connecting the two ends of the power steering hoses and it had its own special blue plug so i also assumed since it had its own plug and drained out, that the hoses didnt need to come off since the water should all be out..

please let me know if its good to go or not

You poked the holes with a stiff wire or similar, yes? If so, it sounds like you got it!
