or run your boat aground a few times.... the sand helps....:D or you may pick up small shells :(

Plus the little shells are what gave Ted cooling issues in 2016

Had them too...had to make up my own outdrive water intake cleaning tool to get those pesky critters out. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could design a stern drive that lifted all the way out of the water like the old OMC stringers could?

I use AF as a protection against hard to reach puddles of water that won't drain. I drain the block and manifolds, put the plugs back in. Run 2-3 gallons of AF through the muffs, so that I'm not just diluting a block full of fresh water, then pull the plugs and drain it all out. It might take 20 minutes to do all of that.
