Hi guys,
I have twin mercruiser 350 Mag horizon (ow360139) engines with 1 bad Map sensor. The mercruiser part (885165 or updated part 8M0087834) seems to go for about $350. A mechanic at my yard says they sell the automotive version for like $30. I found the auto version of the sensor which looks physically identical but it comes as multiple versions rated at different kPa to volts.

Calibration Data:

P1 -> 50 kPa at 0.40V
P2 -> 400 kPa at 4.65V

Anyone know where to find the kPa to volt specs for the mercruiser part? I checked the manual (31) and it doesnt seem to have it.

Not sure either one of those will work exactly for your MAPT. MAP requires a 3 Bar or 300 kpa (3 atmospheres). The numbers to look for are

Merc 885165
Bosh 0261230075
GM 12568929

Excuse my confusion guys. So it sounds like I need a 3 bar MAP sensor; right?

The link below is for a Bosch 3 bar MAP sensor which the image shows as (Bosch 0 281 002 845). If you look at the associated & mating parts tab below the image it shows the details for the other BAR sensors 1-4

Would this be the correct one?

My concern with the 2 you guys have linked through amazon is that the reviews point to it not being a match and possibly the seller not knowing there is a difference like myself.

Really appreciate the help here guys. I just had a kid and am trying everything to cut back on costs and keep the boat.

Since you have a naturally aspirated (NA) motor, you need a 1 Bar sensor. Only motors that need 3 Bar are ones with turbo or super chargers. 1 Bar - 1 atmosphere
