Starter question mercruiser 3.0 alpha one gen 2

I have a bad starter on my mercruiser 3.0, the current starter does not have the 90 amp fuse which I’ve seen in most diagrams. I’m replacing the starter should I get the fuse as well. The starter and the fuse are for a 95 bayloner capri? This boat was bought with. Bad starter the fuse was not on there when I bought it

Not really needed , the 90a is used to protect the alt feed and the ship uses the 50A circuit breaker for the ship wiring..
If you really wanted to fuse the alt feed to the battery use a "maxi-fise" at the alt output terminal.
