my 1975 50hp johnson 50esl75 runs/starts good but will only go about 10 mph.with remote control handle almost horizontal when pushed forward . The motor starts ok in neutral with the throttle linkage plate which has the start scribe marks on it (see my pics) lined up with the cam follower which is attached to the carb linkage as it is recommend and shown in my service manual johnson 50hp50esl75. and my pics. Will anyone look at my pics showing start position of throttle linkage in neutral and pics of throttle linkage in full forward power position and tell me if I have room to adjust the throttle cable or the heavy rod linkage The Full throttle stop adjustment screw has about 1 inch clearance in full forward power position. Carbs seem to be linked/synched together ok and will increase speed the way it should be when I move the linkage by hand and am not concerned about that right now.. Would like to know if I have room to adjust 1.. throttle cable and/or 2. heavy linkage rod between the plate with the full throttle stop adjustmant screw and the plate with the start scrib marks (see my pics) that moves the cam follower to move all the carb linkages).. Not worried about any linkage connecting the carbs themselves, just the cable and heavy link rod Thanks in advance. To get experience you have to have experience. I will attach pics to next post, having trouble attaching them in this post.
