15hp evinrude cam and throttle linkage

Does anyone know where I can find a detailed cam and throttle linkage settings for a 1976 evinrude 15hp model #15604A? It had so much play in the handle to cam follower that I had to keep cover off to see where the cam was to start motor and throttle down..

Play from handle to cam follower is very common.. sloppy rod/gear linkages. I just live with mine as is.. The site above will have much more info/procedures to minimize that throttle play.

That being said, you should be able to put motor in Neutral, advance the throttle fully (to neutral safety stop), and it should start at medium idle.. that adjustment can be set, as you'll find in Leeroy's site.
