How to extend a teleflex steering cable on a Grumman boat, HP Johnson

I have a 1982 Grumman 15 foot family fisherman boat with a 1984 Johnson 35 HP motor. Former owner replaced the steering cable, a Teleflex cable, but installed a cable that is about 10 to 12 inches too short. How can I extend that cable so I can move the steering wheel back over to the left where it belongs?

Buy a cable thats a foot longer. Not trying to be a smarty pants here but that is your only choice.

Hi Jake, thanks for the bad news good news. I hate the steering wheel way over on the right so I'll probably spend the long dollar and do that. Thanks again.
