? about the use of permatex Blue and it's use in a carburator

I just went through my 2 '76 carbs on my '76 115 hp Johnson and removed the little round inspection plates to check for junk that may have collected at the Idle orifices, and, it being clean, I used Permatex Threadlocker Blue to put the new little round pieces (small little aluminum pieces) over the holes . It seems to work, but when I tried to (for the heck of it)glue two pieces of metal togeather, it didn't work too good. Did I use the right stuff. Thanks, PDS

You use a flat tip punch 3/16, 1/4 inch tip to set the plug. The plug is not flat,its convex and the convex goes up and this is where you place the punch. One tap with a hammer will do it. If the core plug is an outside plug, cover the plug with adhesive M. If the core plug is inside the float chamber coat the outer edge of the plug.
