50 h. p. johnson

I have a 50 h. p. v4 johnson,super seahorse. It has numbers 1-5 on each side of the motor and it will run but when I get out on the water there is no power. What should the numbers be set at. The moter is a 1959.

Hi Marlboro,<br />The Idle needles are set at 3/4 turn open.<br />The highspeed are set at 5/8 turn open.<br />THe numbers are reference points,once the jets are set right.<br />...hope it helps...corm

<br />Thanks-corm, Motor is running great!!! I have another boat I'll be trying to get going shortly, PLEASE DON"T GO ANYWERE.
