Getting ready to put an engine back together with a couple of new pistons, and not sure how to tell which side of the piston is the exhaust side.
The manual says the OMC pistons are stamped "exhaust", but not so on the ones I have.
here's a couple of pics, and the only real distinguishing information I see is this:
1. There's a notched area around the bottom of the piston skirt on one side.
2. one of the wrist pin holes has a little knob on it.
3. the stamped information on top is perpendicular to the wristpin.
