Sure, Evinrudes ran with 24::1 oil mixtures all during the 50s and up until 1964. Not a problem.

I have a 88 Suzuki 60 hp, with vro as it is older & I don't trust the vro system anyway, I run my fuel at 100-1 just in case the vro craps out in hopes that the power head may survive. I want to take the vro off but I'm not sure how on a Suzuki, I think my system uses gravity & mechanical means. I just posted on the Suzuki form a few days ago but got no replies on how to by-pass it. in addition to the 100-1 I also put a couple ounces of marvel, it does seem to smoke a bit more but so far has been running ok.
