what would you pay for a 2000 johnson 150?

I am looking at a 2000 Johnson 150 with controls.. what would you expect to pay for it?

Between $25 And $1500 depending on condition. Not any info on motor in question about the actual motor.

Wow the owner wants 3000 with controls..mint with s/s prop..I can't find any year 2000 motor for that...

If you can, do a compression check on it along with checking the gear case oil for any metal particles or water. Then take it for a good test run.

Yeah i know to do that..I am just looking to see what the motor is worth?

I know they have Blue Books out there for marine mtrs but I don't know where. Maybe somebody who knows will chime in.

All depends on overall condition and location has an impact as well.

That price is close to what it bring in Nashville and surrounding areas as controls are worth $250.....

In mint condition with wiring harness and instruments, I paid $2,300 last October. I have no idea as to whether that was a good price or not.

i wouldnt touch a ficht myself, seen too many people have trouble with them.

But i also know a guy who has had one for years and no trouble at all.

personaly i wouldnt touch it.

but i doubt you would get a runner for 1500 let alone a nice one, somebody is proper dreaming on here

must be a loop charged motor, but that model year is scary.

no its not a ficht..That is a big stay away for me..I checked the motor out today and it is mint,everything is super clean.Has a S/S Viper prop.I did not do the comp test till he will except my offer..He wants 3000 with controls and I have to pull it off his boat.

$2400 would be what i like to pay. See what he says.

Be glad it's not a ficht. The carb mtrs were good ones and easy to work on.

It is an Oceanpro long shaft carbureted engine.
