Does anyone know the capacity and type of gear oil to use for a 1977 Evinrude 70 HP motor? I found quicksilver gear lube SAE 80W-90, but I am not sure if that is what I need. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
You will need 22 ounces. The High Performance Merc gear oil is good stuff. If you want factory gear oil, the Johnson/Evinrude HPF Pro is another really good product.
