2003 johnson 30 hp pull start remote steering

I have 2003 johnson 30 pull start remote have spark fuel but no fire fuel n hose good last year i would pull 50 times no start then next pull fire! next day 20 pulls then fire ? ? this year no fire pls help the kill switch looks to be dinged up a little

Start with some basic checks, how is the compression, will the spark jump a 7/16" air gap?
Will it strat up if you squirt some fuel mixture into the carbs?
