I have a 1993 Evinrude 175hp outboard motor for my boat. It looks like the previous owners started mixing the oil in the gas tanks and disconnected the oil line because it's been cut and pluged. My questing is how can you tell if the gas and oil is being mixed ing the tanks and how do you hook up the gas line to the motor. The motor has two plastic gas line pipes about a quarter inch round sticking out. The bottom pipe is a little smaller. I tried to load a picture but can't figure it out.

The larger 3/8" line is fuel. The 5/16" line if for oil. If the oil tank is still there just purge the line and hook it back up. Don't forget to plug in the electrical connection for the alarms. You're much better off with it operating. If the tank has oil in it, dump it out and start with good oil.

OK, I'll do that right now. Need to buy some gas line and oil line though. Thanks.

Make sure the fuel line is 3/8" ID and has the new A-1/15 rating for ethanol.
