Looking to purchase a 1990 90hp v4.

Was wondering if anyone knows this motor. Are they good motors do they have a common problem, and are they easy to work on. any info would help.

thanks in advance.

I had a 86. Best used motor I ever owned. Just had to clean the carb and replace the thermostat. Paid two g,s for mine and it was well worth it

They are solid engines and are as good as the prior owner maintained it. I'd check the powerhead compression and the gear oil in the lower unit before purchasing. A successful test run will help you in your decision.

Me also had a 88 SPL 1989 Evinrude outboard that ran great and I took very care of this motor and boat but it sold this past Saturday and I hated to see it leave the driveway.Take care of it and she will run great. I loved mine but I bought a Pontoon Boat instead since my family is getting bigger. :)

Great motors if properly maintained.
