universal tachometer

hi,
I find universal tachometer for outboard engines and i want connect on my johnson 130,2000year,i have 3 wire,ground,+12v,and wire G-generator,where connect this wire on my engine

There should be I for ignition + (purple), G for ground - (black), S for sender (gray).

There is no sender to attach to the engine. It operates of pulses from the alternator. Just find the gray wire coming from the engine (Usually at the terminal board in the engine compartment) and hook it to the send terminal on the Tachometer....

If you have side mount throttle/shift controls, there is a three pin connector just under the ignition key. You need the tachometer harness which is available from a dealer, here on iboats, or you can make your own if you have some electrical skills.
