Does anyone know the proper way to change out the shaft seal part #58 in the diagram at marineengine.com
from what I can tell, I need to pull the needle bearing #59 to get to it and I will need to replace the needle bearing also as it will be destroyed.

Also, is it possible to add a 2nd shaft seal?

Thank you!

If you use heat the bearing may come out easily.----Motor has lasted nearly 60 years with 1 seal.-----Doubt there is a need for 2 seals.----But if there is room install 2 if you like.

Heating the housing in the oven for 15 minutes at 350F did the trick. I was able to catch the edge of the prop shaft seal with a 15mm socket and tap it out and saved the bearing.
