518BAE35-DE51-427D-B9DB-9CBEF45446CE.jpeg I found the 1999 Accessories Manual on eBay. I hope it has the tilt/trim stuff in there. Not sure when it will get here yet.

I tried both easing and lowering the bow, topped off fluid again and got no results.

The PB Blaster must have finally worked its magic over the past week or so as I was finally able to get the release valve to move. I tried the manual impact screwdriver one last time and that turned it ever so slightly. Just enough to keep working it either direction while spraying it with Blaster after each small turn. The motor has not budged at all.

I blocked up the motor just in case and was able to remove the circling, screw the valve out until I could feel that the threads were not engaged, and was able to pull it out with some needle nose pliers.

Half of an o-ring is missing but I don't know if broke when I pulled it out or if it was gone previously. Can't find the other half yet so maybe it is stuck in the system somewhere.

other than the missing o-ring, does the valve look ok to those of you that have seen good ones?

Nope, nothing moves. Motor runs but nothing happening.
I do still have the release valve out. I was hoping that the little pieces of o-ring would get pushed out it the motor moved or the pump started working again. (I did find a few pieces inside the hole that the valve covers. Hard to get to because it is in the side of the case.)

Drive out the mounting pins and the PTT unit will come off. It sounds like you are at that step anyway, since the motor still doesn't trim down.

How does the coupler typically fail? Would it cause my symptoms? Stuck in up position, manual release valve has no effect, motor runs in both directions without pumping fluid.

The motor running in both directions with no effect on anything is what gets me.

Would a messed up coupler cause the motor to lock like this? That’s what gets me. I figure there has to be something physically keeping it in place.

Separate motor and pump to locate the coupler (#15). I'm not sure what all that white stuff is -- maybe an attempt to fix a leaking O-ring. In any case, the O-ring will come off when the motor is separated. It likely should be replaced with the coupler. Maybe the screen is blocked as well.

If the release is out you should get nothing up or down.
Over time the rams , seals can seize on the shaft making it impossible to move.

So sorry guys, the boat got pushed to the back burner for 6 months.☹️

I finally had the chance to get the tilt trim off of the boat and was able to get the trim ram apart. (A friend had the spanner wrench for that but not for the tilt rams.) I replaced the manual release valve, cleaned out the filters (didn’t look bad at all), and put everything back together and repainted it. I’m not sure what I did, but it is now working again. Maybe it was the new manual release valve, maybe it was the new paint. 😜

I have a secondary problem though… The Tilt/trim sending unit for some reason is not wanting to line up properly and the lever that is pushed by the engine as it goes down is now hitting the top of the electric motor that connects to the hydraulic system. It is getting jammed as the engine trims down. I don’t see any other way that it can mount to the bracket, but it appears that it needs to slide starboard a quarter inch to clear the top of the electric motor.

sorry, not sure why my pictures keep showing up upside down.🤔
