Hi guys,

As the title states I have a 68 Evinrude 55HP that is retracting the throttle all the way. I've oiled all of the pieces and each piece seems to move freely but after bringing the throttle back it seems to hang up on the higher arm that hooks underneath the flywheel but I'm not sure how to fix this. I took a video that will hopefully show you the issue better than I can describe it.

I appreciate the help.

I think the inner cable is broken.----Time to have a look see.-----Also that black adjusting wheel is not in the right spot.-----It is one or the other.

Sure enough the inner cable was broken about six inches in on the engine side. I don't quite get what you mean about the adjusting wheel though?

Easy to figure out that " wheel " tomorrow I think.------Somebody moved that trying to figure why the throttle was sticking.----That is the way I see it.----Good luck with the new cable.
