I have a 94 Johnson. 115 that had a 4 wire VRO. It now has a regular diaphram pump and the vro connector disconnected. Will the overheat alarm from 5he head temp sensors still work or do they run off the Vro circut board? If so can I just re-install the vro with a ports plugged and just clip the oil level and no oil alarm wires?

The heat sensors (overheat alarm) in the two cylinders heads, nor the warning horn are not affected.

To test, and for peace of mind... engine NOT running but with the ignition switch in the ON position, ground out either of those two sensor wires... the horn should sound off.
