Morning All - on previous motors i've had there was a grey tach wire that ran up tot he control box. Doesn't seem to be the case with this 35hp.

Search uncovered it's directly wired to the rectifier (or i may be wrong there) - so i'm looking for a bit of insight on where it should be wired to for signal.

Also, to confirm, i've read i need to set on 5 pulse, not 6 for the 35hp?

Thank you!

Should be a grey wire in the control, but if not, it connects to any one of the 3 yellow wires on the rectifier. Yep, 5 pulse.

Um...you mentioned a rectifier so I assumed it is electric start, right? Whole different story if it is rope start.

Well if one of them is yellow with a grey stripe, that is the one you are supposed to use, but it actually makes no difference. They are all the same, electrically.
