I have an old but cherished 1972 Johnson 100hp outboard that has a few issues.
It hasn't been ran for 6 years but was winterized
Last time it was ran, there was old gas in the tank and it ran poorly. (My mistake)
It turned over just fine but would not fire this time.
I am fairly convinced that I broke the starter solenoid because the starter was replaced in the years before it sat and the clunk sound comes from the solenoid.

I am ordering a new solenoid and carb kits.

I will be working on it next weekend hopefully so any advice in the mean time would be wonderful.

My plan so far is to replace the solenoid and clean and rebuild the carbs. Any other suggestions?

You probably wasted your money on the solenoid. It's supposed to click.
