I thought I saw it someplace that with the new tcw3 oil I should run this at a 24:1 mix? It calls for a straight 30 weight at a 16:1 but with the modern oils 24:1 would be ok? I just finished going threw this with new water pump, carb kit, and points, plugs, condenser and coils. Ready to fire it up after 20 years or so now and want to get the fuel-oil right. Thanks for any info. Jim

If it were mine, I would mix a half gallon at 16:1 with TCW-3 and see how it runs. Can follow with 24:1 if you want to experiment. The motor oil used in the day was non-detergent 30 wt. -- not as clean burning but did the job.

Sounds good on the 16:1 then. I thought it might be a bit to much with modern oil but sounds like its ok to use. I would rather have to much than to little! Thanks
