Lower unit repair

I have a boat with twin 150 HP Johnsons. I need to replace the counter rotation lower unit. can I replace that with a standard rotation unit?

Steering and tracking of the boat wont be as nicely balanced , but I say it can be done.----I have a boat with twin 235 V-6 and both rotate the same way.----I do not need a counter rotating feature.----Harder to find the parts.

You may have to re-.arrange shift linkages at the motor.----Shift rod should move up for forward gear.

Gee, why not see if SEI has a counter rotating gearcase for that motor? It will save the cost of a new prop, and the change of the shift linkage.
