Tachometer

Hi all. Having issues with my tachometer on a evinrude 1996 90 hp Once it hits 2000rpm it drops back to zero Only works between that range no higher. Had anyone have these issue and solved it. New gauge or rectifier ? Thanks Rod

First, welcome aboard

next, check the connections at the back of the tach

some times you can move the dip-switches back and forth to "clean" the contacts (put them back where you started) and that is good for a bit

however you may simply need a new gauge.

Might check the ground(s) to your gauges.
