Evinrude I believe an 88 model.
E110TLCCA R 1813461

Is this the model you need to remove the carbs and the air plate to access
the screw that connects the shift shaft to the shift mechanism?

The measurement for the shift shaft?
I see the list in the 2nd post but not sure what model I have?
V-4 60d crossflow or 90d looper??

Thanks, Jerry

You have the crossflow..... and just disconnect cable, pull hairpin clip and push in on shaft which opens clamp on shaft.

An 1988 is a 90 degree crossflow !!-----No need to remove carburetor !----No need to remove a screw either.----Remove the hitch pin as stated and push the shaft over.

For my 1990 90hp crossflow, I had to take the shift cable off to position/move the shift shaft arm far enough in reverse to get it to release the lower unit shift rod/arm.

There was not enough travel to just pull the pin, push it in and shift the drive in reverse for it to release. Spent 40 mins figuring this out that this was necessary for my outboard.

Finally got it apart as far as it was gonna go :(
The shift mechanism is frozen in place.
No amount of shifting or trying to shift the mechanism would let it release.
Picked up a good lower and installing it today.

Then a carb clean then the fancy work comes.
The console was on teak runners, they rotted away, replacing them and a few other
things to work on.

Thanks for the help
