TD 20 linkage

I'm cleaning up my TD 20. Was going to remove carburetor. I discovered a spring loaded bent rod hanging from the magneto area near the carb. Does anyone know to where/what it is supposed to be attached at the carb?

It connects to the lever on the carb throttle butterfly valve. Opens/closes it as the spark is advanced/retarded.
