Saw something really odd today, in beginning work on an old 1891 150 V6 I had laying around. I have the OEM book coming. Im lots more familier with v4's.

This old motor has all 3 carb primer nipples capped off. The Primer lines go to Port Bypass cover nipples. There are a 2nd set of Bypass nipples right next to these that go to the front of the intake Manifold, recirc system apparantly.

Did this Vintage use a Primer that went directly into the Cylinders (bypass covers area)??

The carbs, By PN, are not from the '81, but a few years newer...So I'm not sure if the orig 1981 Carb even had a primer nipple on them, if this was considered a normal setup.

Seems odd to me, at first glance.

Then I got another old 150, but a 1985....Primer lines go to the normal Carb nipples...But Bypass covers have NO nipples at all. All Recirc lines are tied together.

Seems odd too. The above 1981 with Primer going to the Bypass's, look factory by the current hose routing, if that helps.
