1968 jw23 a

So I picked up a gem today for a great price and had a question about gas mix. I have 1968 3hp Johnson JW 23A, various forums have said different things. Some say 50.1 and over says 24.1. Tomrrow will be my maiden voyage/ first time running this motor. Any input would be helpful, also I noticed to different knobs on the front that say lean and rich. I’m wondering should I start those in the middle and adjust from there? I’m new to outboards, so Input on these knobs would be appreciated.

Motors so clean it looks almost new.

If it was my motor I'd use 24:1 fuel mix in it.

Agree - I wouldn't take a chance with 50:1
