Hey folks,
I've got a 200 Johnson that I thought was running just fine. However, I decided to check my compression and found out that my compression was
1 - 100 psi
3 - 25 psi
5 - 105 psi
2 - 100 psi
4 - 100 psi
6 - 105 psi

I pulled my head of and looked at #3. It is black on the top and there are two significant grooves. I assume that i need to resleeve this cylinder. My question, is can I use the same piston? Just put in a new sleeve and rings? i don't see any damage to it other than the carbon built up. The head has some dings in it. I assume is from the ring that let go.

How hard of a job is it to resleeve?

I would bore it .030 over and get the correct oversized ring for it, clean the top of the piston off if it does not show any damage and put it back together and go boating.

When you bore it oversize you have to use both PISTON and rings.

It lost a ring locating pin and you need to replace the other 5 pistons as they will soon follow with same problem.
