Yea. That's what happened. I didn't know it was a cross flow motor either, and I was blaming the wrong carb. I think I've got a needle valve that's not sitting. there's fuel coming out of that carb from an orifice right above the bowl. I think its over flowing. I took the carb apart and cleaned it best I could, but I think I'm going to have to get a rebuild kit. It still overflowed fuel from that hole when I put it back together. It was kind of dirty inside and had a rusty residue all inside.
