just recently got a classic MFG with the factory 40 Hp Sea horse RK-24L. I can’t seem to figure out the manual trim on it. I thought the release was under the handle but I’m not sure. I’ve looked and tried many different things, I’m not sure with it being so old the manual release is broken or I just cannot find it.

Thank you in advance

Been a while, but I believe the release are should be centered between the transom clamps under the front of the cowling. In addition, I believe there is a pin on the side of the starboard clamp that secures the motor in the tilt position.

The mechanism may be in need of some lube.

The release is where just described. Push it downward and move to the side. That latches it in the unlock position. Motor should now tilt. If it doesn't, it is corroded or needs adjustment. Loosen the nut on the cross-bolt that acts like a tilt hinge. That is the tilt friction adjustment
