forum changes make the search function very cludgy at best...i tried to get some info on this but.....

i have new sierra wires on my fresh rebuild crossflow v4...correct number and croff ref to this sierra 9" 8mm wire.

for carious reasons im metering ignition components.....

new wires measure at:

600
300
350
375

Oem book calls for 0 ohms end to end!

what gives....and whats with the 600 vs the rest?

Pre made wires or did you make them yourself? Some of these new wires have resistance. The old style wires that you put the spring thing through have little, but the spring thing with the little spike does not work with the suppression wire or whatever fancy term they call this new stuff.

Real wire stuff would show near ZERO ohms.----An " online purchase " perhaps, if yes then you may want to call the supplier !!

Pre Made Sierra...oem/Brp crossed reffed to these.
The sheath says spiral cored...i realize theres solid, twisted, carbon, copper etc.

The Oem book says to check for Zero ohms.. are Sierra wires made different, with the resistance?

Either way, i still come back to the manual calling for Zero.

wires must be twisted (strands) of copper or metallic in structure no carbon !

with 2-3 feet resistance is 0 ohms

carbon wires were to suppress RF noise messing up A.M. band reception in cars .... in the A.M. glory days and sensitive electronic eqpt.

Copper wire for this engine. 60 degree V4/V6 Looper uses carbon wires.
