Hi

I have a fully rebuilt Johnson 2 Stoke, 1999 15 HP engine.
It runs real well with very good compression.

Is there anything that can be done to the engine to increase bhp/power?

My mates who have newer 20HP 4 Stoke engines have that little bit more performance out of their boat.

You could try to do some re-proping Otherwise get a newer motor.

I have fooled around with these 15's a lot. In the mid 80's they actually made a 7000 rpm model that hardly anyone seems to know exist. I think that made it for class racing in the upper mid-west. I have tried to index the plugs. Take off the airbox on the carb to try to get some cooler air into the carb. A 2 blade prop that OMC used to make helps. Pretty simple stuff for maybe a small hp gain.
