I have my engine now completely stripped and will be rebuilding her very soon.
Is there anything i should be aware of when i start ?
I have the factory manual Will follow that but is there any tips you guys have ?
I have replaced crank seals checked all bearings in the crankshaft.
The thing that gets me is the factory manual only say's when reassembling the motor to use 2 stroke oil on everything. I have no qualms doing so,
But should the top and bottom bearings not be packed with OMC triple guard ?
Or is the 2 stroke more than enough for it ?
I know that for the rest of its running life the only lube it will receive will be via the 50/1 mix, so would it not be good practice to use the grease at this stage ?

No as its not designed for internal usage and would be to hard for engine to wash out.

Why would you want to use grease here ??----Are you replacing the check valve ( $$$ ) for the center bearing ?

Thanks for the input. I just assumed with them bearings they would have grease in them.
No racerone i am doing a complete rebuild of my engine.
Finding it hard to get hold of wrist pin needles over this side of the pond. I take it it is a good idea to change them.

I am learning all the time from you guys.
All i know about outboards is what i have learned from forums and youtube.
Can you tell me what it does and how to replace it ?
Is it some sort of lubrication valve ? Will it unscrew with an easy out or is it pressed in ?
