Hey guys,

As some of you fellas know, I am into outboard jets. The jet lowers are expensive and hard to find.

To the point. I found a (crossflow) 1993 90 Jet (90/65) E90JLETS in great shape with a blown powerhead. I got it for cheap. Two question:

1.) I know in 1992 they changed the shaft lengths on the 90-115 crossflows, but would the powerheads from '91 and under work? I didnt know if the spines in the crankshaft were changed or just the length of the mid section.

2.) I heard that the 115 powerhead will just bolt on to the midsection. I am not sure what the differences are in the 90-115 blocks, but would a 115 mount to that 90hp midsection? What years should I look for?

Thanks guys, I have only ever owned loopers.

Splines in the crankshaft were the same from 73 and on.----Are you sure there was a change in the length of the midsection ??-----Check the part # of the base gasket to see if a 115 will bolt to a 90 midsection !!

Racer, I am not sure if the mid changed, but from what I was told from OBR was that the driveshaft lengths are 7/16" longer in the 1992 and up models. I was trying to figure out if they accomodated the shaft length in the crank splines or in the midsection.

Good advice on the base gasket. The part number for the base gasket is the same on the 90 and 115.
