Strange but last season my idle seemed to be a bit high which made shifting slightly harder. This spring the idle was lower making shifting quite easy. Now in the fall the idle is back up a bit again. My tech said not to be concerned. What would cause this to happen without any adjusting being done??

Worn and stretched throttle cables can cause this.

thanks but the cables are brand new last year.Hauled for the season yesterday and idle was perfect right in the middle of where it has been previously. Is there a choke on these motors?I ask because up till a few years ago it would run at slightly higher idle after cold start and drop down about a minute later....like a choke is supposed to do.it dont do that anymore....

Check all the linkages and armature plate for binding and lubrication. Also check cables for proper installation and fit. The control box too.
