1978 V-4 Control Query

77 was the last year for the External Trim system. In 77 the 140 came with the new integral system and in 78 the rest of the V4s got it. Your engine is between 1973 - 1977.

We need pictures, clear and in focus, and lots of them, to ball park the year and HP

Correct again. The '77 140, and only the 140, had the newer integral trim. Trim motor was still three wire however. Believe that changed to two wire '78 and up. Yes. Pics please.

My bad. Thought '78-'79 was when they switched to two wire. I have a '78 140 mid in the craport and it's 2 wire?

Dunno - could have been retrofitted. Or the '79 140 I had was oldrofitted? Anyhoo, it came with the box that just had a fat relay for "UP" and "DOWN" was just through the switch on the helm.
