  • S80 M80 neon tester substitute

What the heck is a S80 or M80 tester (required to test amplifier on 71 Johnson V4100hp) and is there a substitute I can use to test amp?

a decent subsitute is the stevens CD-77 peak reading multimeter. you can measure primary coil voltage and look for intermittent voltages. however the CD-77 wont place the load on the amp that the neon tester will.
no tech questions by PM, they wont get answered.
