Johnson Sea Horse TD 20 #715218, 1949 5.0 horse I believe. I'm in the process of cleaning/tuning this motor that my father said last ran 7 or 8 years ago. I noticed that one of the pole shoes is contacting the magnet rotor on one side. There is heat discoloration on the pole shoe tip and the layers have separated a bit. Is this a major problem? Do I need to adjust or replace the pole shoe? Is this indicative of other issues? I have a picture, but I don't know how to post it--I tried to cut and paste. I'm using Safari as my browser. Thank you.
