2000 Nissan 50 hp

I have a 2000 50hp Nissan outboard on my 20ft pontoon boat. The trim makes a LOUD clunk noise when trimmed up and down. Anyone have this issue before? TIA.

What is your actual model (not year)? Is this a TLDI, or carbed 2-stroke? Does it tilt, even though there is a clunk? Does the tilt pump run OK? Is a bushing popped out? Can you tilt manually?

A chunk sound would indicate binding. Binding can be anything from rust on a tilt rod to a something broken inside the pump.
