I have an older 50hp that has sat for a while. I think I tried to push varnished fuel through the system and it wont start. When I spray engine starter in the cylinders it fires but wont run. Am I looking at injectors as a possible issue and what is my next course of action to diagnose or next step to test it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to iboats.

If you plan ongoing the work yourself, I would buy a factory service manual for your motor.

Yes, clean and or replace fuel system components, hoses, filters, etc, all the way back to the tank. Remove and dispose of fuel in tank, clean tank.

Do not use "engine starter" , it not only lacks lubrication for your motor, but will actually strip any residual oil from the engine.

You need a manual. After you have that you put the engine into diagnostic mode and it will tell you what is wrong.
