You know that connector's o'ring are not available as spares, must buy the whole expensive connector if having fuel spills on any of both female connectors. Have you managed to look for them in car shops taking the removed sample to them, did they fit nicely, did their homework right ? Have seen 4 connector o'ring failures last week due to owners leaving connectors on board exposed to sun, UV radiation, salt water which can harden in the long run internal o'rings. Boaters that have looked for them locally couldn't find any replacement, bad music!!

have you tried getting a metric o-ring kit. or measuring an o-ring and simply getting a bunch of them.

Tohatsu uses off-the-shelf o-rings

just for reference, I have a few different size o-ring kits, some that go down to a 1.5x.5 o-ring up to a 20mm o-ring while the next goes up to 100mm

then I have the SAE kits and a bunch of special compound for A/C systems

Thanks both, good to know that Tohatsu employs standard o'rings for fuel use, a shame that they don't sell them as spares. A matter to check what was mentioned earlier but in reality wanted to know what were Iboats members that owns Tohatsu OB's were doing to solve that issue.

Luckily only once had an engine connector o'ring failure, was sucking too much air and OB was missing at speed. A new connector took care of the situation, this extreme cheap o'ring can miss anytime if severely dried up or hooked frequently to a scratched male connector that can deteriorate if super fast. If overlooked will end tearing the whole fuel system with no avail whatsoever.

Now regularly polish with toothpaste and fingers tips both male connectors to a smooth shinny condition.

Afterwords an olive oil droplet is applied to each connector and distributed evenly with finger tips, female connectors will snap in softly with a nice click while o'rings lasts very long. Works excellent with any fuel hose brand using an internal o'ring, try it.
