There are only 2 different carbs on the MFS9.8A3. The difference is the choke operation; the electric choke model turns the opposite of the manual choke version. The M9.8B (2-stroke) is completely different. What is your actual model, and what is it you want to know?

8/9.8 HP-OB's have less CC than a 9.9 OB, whether being 2 or 4 strokes OB's. Get a 4 strokes 9.9 Yam carb.

Tohatsu carbs are identified not by venturi but by casting number. The 9.8 manual choke version is part number 3V2031003M, while the electric choke version is 3V2031333M. The 8 hp version has a MUCH smaller throat. The 8 hp manual choke version is part number 3V1031003M, while the electric choke version is 3V1031333M. You can call Tohatsu America at 469-771-3740 to check the casting number.
