NS15D2 (Nissan) Cracked midsection - is this a problem?

When wiping off my motor today this crack appeared. Is this a problem? If so, what are my options for going about fixing it?

I can?t for the life of me figure out how it happened in the first place. Motor runs fine. Gear oil is good - no water.

I would leave it alone.

Post a pic as to address correctly the issue. If it's a simple crack could seal/patch it with something once dried repaint that area. If it were a hole, combustion fumes and water coming down powerhead could exit from there.
