Force 9.9 Cooling System

I also have a Force 9.9 HP and my serial no is OE116533 and my motor also had the cooling systemn clogged with what appeared to be melted rubber and plastic. My mechanic picked out the debris near the thermostat opening but when I ran it, it still got clogged up. So, now I run the motor without the thermostat. Not very efficient but it works.

Does anyone know where the melted rubber or plastic came from?

could it be the impeller in the water pump? (I'm surprised you mechanic didn't suggest that)
