Clamp torque

Hello,
I am attempting to replace the port side motor clamp this weekend coming up. To prevent the alum clamp from splitting like my other one did, what is the correct torque for these bolts?

Thanks,

Re: Clamp torque

WHAT? You haven't replaced it yet?

I have never seen a spec for the transom clamp bolts. However, I can say that the torque value a fine thread 1/2 inch bolt can carry is great enough that the transom would be crushed. Simply tighten them until the fiberglass on the inner transom starts to deform then stop.

OR, you can use the multiple grunt method with a breaker bar and pull the bolts and washers through the transom. LOL

Re: Clamp torque

Looks like a lower through bolt so snug with a little plus would be enough.
